In the summer of 2020, Duo Damgaard-Gryesten, consisting of violinist Benedikte Damgaard, will embark on a tour of China, with 10 concerts in major cities from July 16th to 28th. The concert programmes will consist of sonatas by Beethoven, Brahms and Grieg.
As a celebration of the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827), Duo Damgaard-Gryesten will perform the complete violin sonatas by Beethoven, during concert tours in 2020 and 2021., with the 10 sonatas divided in 3 concert programs.More
On November 26, Emil appeared at a marathon concert in Hellerup Kammermusikforening, Copenhagen, along with his two pianist colleagues Gustav Piekut and Jonathan Siahaan. Emil performed the Liszt Norma Fantasy and Ravel’s Gaspard de la nuit, as well as some shorter pieces. In November this year, Emil will embark on a new exciting recording project together with the cellist Carl Oscar Østerlind: A recording of two separate CD’s, one with sonatas by Brahms, the other with music by Alfred Schnittke.
Recording will take place at the Kirsten Kjær Museum in Northern Denmark, in November, December 2018 and February 2019.
Emil made his Carnegie Hall debut on July 21st, and the Danish Consulate General interviewed him about the experience, about his influences and inspirations, and about Danishness in art.
